Heartmoves Starts September 3

Heartmoves is an exercise program developed by the Heart Foundation for people wishing to exercise at a low to moderate intensity. It is designed to be safe and appropriate for people with stable chronic conditions such as heart disease, diabetes, arthritis, high blood pressure, high cholesterol or obesity.

Classes will be commencing at the South Gippsland Hospital Community Health Centre in the large function room on Wednesday September 3.

The focus of classes will be cardiovascular fitness, strength, mobility and balance. Classes are of 45 minutes duration.

Chairs will be provided for clients needing to sit to exercise or stand with support. People who need walking sticks or walkers are welcome and able to participate.

All participants must complete a PEAR Form (Pre-exercise Assessment & Referral) available from the Community Health Centre, before being able to participate in a class. You may need your doctor to sign the medical clearance.

The cost will be $6.60 per class or $60 for a block of 10 classes.

Four Heartmoves classes will be held each week on Wednesdays at 11.30am, 1pm, 2pm and 3pm.

Existing clients in the current Mobility and Strength Training Classes will automatically go onto the list for the same time slot. Please notify the centre if you wish to change classes.

New clients will need to book into a class with Community Health Centre Reception on 56838 780.

Looking forward to seeing you at Heartmoves!
